ReplyDeleteThat one always bothered me. I often asked myself the same kinds of questions. However, now that I see the written text, I realize that I didn't really know all the words. I don't remember the steamboat thing at all. And I must admit that I can't figure out what the boys are zipping down. I'm sure it's something crude, but I just don't know what crude word should rhyme with "lies". I'm sure I don't really want to know anyway. And who wrote this ridiculous lyric? And when? And how did it ever become so popular?
ReplyDeleteI also have never really known all the words to this song. I thought miss Suzy slipped upon the pieced of glass.
